Thursday App: Fooducate
Fooducate is an app that tracks the user's process of losing weight. It is unlike other apps because it shows calories and nutrition of food in a easily digestible design. For example, the grade of the food is a, a-, b and b-. The user can immediately tell whether the food is a healthy option or not. It also shows healthier alternatives. My favorite part is that in the end of the day, it gives the user an assessment of both quality and quantity of foods the user has eaten.

Concept Ideas for Project 2
Our concept for project 2:
-An all-in-one app that would allow the user to track packages from various different shipping companies (UPS, DHL, USPS, etc.) and from big retailers (Zara, Amazon, eBay, Etsy, etc.)
-Users: People who frequently shop online and have a busy schedule. They would like to keep track of their orders to make sure they can arrange a pick up time as efficiently as possible.
-The objective is not to show the tracking number, but to show items on which stage they are at in arriving to the final destination.

Food on Wheels Prototype on Pop
The user test-
Tasks:
1. Find a taco truck from home
2. Write a review on Carlo's Steaks
3. Go see your photos
User 1: YH, 22
1. Unsuccessful
Problems:
-Home screen: For those who didn't allow GPS, there should be a dialogue box prompting the user to enter the location
-Search bar: should it be a button or a dialogue box?
2. Successful
3. Successful, but can the user access the photos from the sidebar, too? ex. facebook
User 2: JY, 21
1. Successful, but search nearby should be search or search button only
2. Successful, but can you shorten the process by one step? Consider.
3. Successful, but can you make it not look like an album and use wide rectangle forms for photos?
*The first screen should be the map+search instead of the profiel side bar open. It happened because the order of the screens is not editable.
*Also, the upper part is hidden due to the phone graphic layer on top of the screen. It is also not editable.

Food on Wheels
The app Food on Wheels allows the user to find local food trucks. The food truck owners add their business on the app, link to their twitter or facebook accounts so that the app can use their feeds as "announcements" in their profile page. The owners update their current location on their own or when prompted by the app. The app will prompt the owner to update their current location timely by push notification.

For customers, the app suggests nearby food trucks based on the user's location in the main page. Outside the app, the app will send the notifications about nearby food trucks during the lunch time (11-1pm). The user is also allowed to search new food trucks by name, distance, popularity and cuisine. The user can check in, add photos and reviews for rewards (haven't decided).
